Cozy Game Restoration Demo: Why Upgrades Cost $9999

At a glance

Prices around $9999 deliberately lock upgrades in the final demo. The developer added this restriction to stop limited demo funds being spent on upgrades instead of the games needed for the session.

Why is the price so high?

The final demo has a limited number of games and days. Spending its small pool of money on shelf slots or other upgrades could leave a player without enough for the remaining games.

Demo Patch 4 addressed that problem by locking upgrades with prices around $9999. The price is a restriction, rather than an intended saving target for the demo.

Should you save up for an upgrade?

Treat these upgrades as locked for this demo. Keep the session’s limited funds available for game parcels instead of planning your progress around buying a $9999 upgrade.

The restriction does not establish the full game’s upgrade prices, earning rates or long-term economy. It also is not the price of buying Cozy Game Restoration itself.

If you are cleaning Toro 2

The high prices do not mean you must purchase a stronger tool to deal with the old Toro 2 epic cartridge grooves. Patch 3 addressed that cartridge by changing its shell from PAL to NTSC.

Read the Toro 2 cartridge patch for that change, or the demo overview for its content and autocomplete settings.
